Youth Poster Competition

Winning entry will represent the Bolton Fall Fair at the Youth Poster Competition at the District Five meeting. 

  1. Junior: up to & including Grade 4
  2. Intermediate: Grades 5-8
  3. Senior: Grades 9-12

Criteria/Rules:

  • Theme: Promoting the Bolton Fall Fair
  • Original, hand drawn design
  • Minimum size 11” x 17” (28 cm x 43.5 cm)
  • Maximum size 12” x 18” (30.5 cm x 46 cm)
  • Must be mounted on a black art card (Bristol board) to give 2” (5 cm) border on all sides
  • Name & Dates of the 2017 Bolton Fall Fair must be clearly shown on poster

Prizes:

1st $15; 2nd $6; 3rd $4    Prize money donated by Snell Septic Service, 4th etc. from Fair Board

  1. Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition

Winning entry will represent the Bolton Fall Fair at the Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition at the District Five meeting.

Criteria/Rules:

  • Open to youths ages 10 to 15 (as of December 31, 2017)
  • 8 cookies displayed on a firm, disposable plate
  • Cookies to be no larger than 3” (6.75cm) & no smaller than 2” (5cm)
  • Judged on Presentation 25 points

                                General appearance 15 points

                                Internal appearance 15 points

                                Flavour 45 points

Prizes:

1st $15; 2nd $6; 3rd $4    Prize money donated by Cookhome Farm, Sandhill 4th etc. from Fair Board

  1. Robin Hood Best Lunchbox Snack Contest

Best homemade cookies, squares or bars, youth division, 12 years & younger (as of December 31, 2017)

Prizes:    1st $15 Prize money donate by Robin Hood 2nd etc. from Fair Board

  1. One scrapbook album page, theme of your choice. Gift prize form Fair Board
  2. Theme Special – Write an acrostic poem for “CANADA 150 True North Strong” – hand writing or computer generated

Patricia M. Boughen Memorial

The winner will be determined based on the highest points accumulated from the participants in the Arts & Crafts Sections in classes 30-33.  The winner will receive a trophy or plaque donated by Fair Board

Norma Bangay Memorial

Norma was a retired school teacher & a long-time volunteer in the Junior Section at the Bolton Fall Fair.  She passed away in 2011 & is dearly missed.  In her honour, the Norma Bangay Memorial award is presented to the School with the top points accumulated by their students in all Junior section classes.  Plaque donated by Fair Board.

  2. Second highest points in Class 27 – $5 donated by Annie Lynn the Clown
  3. Most points in Class 28 – $20 donated by Cookhome Farm, Sandhill
  4. Second highest points in Class 28 – $5 donated by Annie Lynn the Clown
  5. Most points in Class 27, 28 or 29 (excluding Class 29) – $25 gift card donated by the Burnside Family
  6. Most points in Class 29 – trophy donated by Fair Board
  7. Most points in Class 30 – $25 donated by Bolton United Church Women
  8. Most points in Class 31 – 10” silver tray donated by The Royal Bank, Bolton
  9. Most points in Class 32 – $25 gift card donated by the Burnside Family
  10. Most points in Classes 33 & 34 – $25 gift card donated by the Burnside Family
