YOUTH POSTER COMPETITION

Winning entry will represent the Bolton Fall Fair at the Youth Poster Competition held at the District Five meeting.

  1. Junior: up to & including Grade 4
  2. Intermediate: Grades 5-8
  3.  Senior: Grades 9-12

Criteria/Rules:

  • Theme: “Promoting the Bolton Fall Fair”
  • Original hand drawn design
  • Poster size: Minimum- 11” x 17” (28 cm x 43.5 cm) to a Maximum- 12” x 18” (30.5cm X 46 cm)
  • Must be mounted on a black art card to give exactly a 2” (5 cm) border
  • NAME & DATE OF THE 2016 BOLTON FALL FAIR MUST BE CLEARLY SHOWN ON POSTER

PRIZES: 1ST – $15, 2ND – $6, 3RD – $4

Prizes 98-100: 4th etc. from Fair Board

 

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE COMPETITION

Winning entry will represent our fair at the Chocolate chip cookie Competition held at District Five meeting.

  1. Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition Winning entry will represent the Bolton Fall Fair at the Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition at the District Five meeting.

Criteria/Rules

  • Open to youths ages 10 to 15 (as of Dec. 31/16)
  • 8 cookies to be “shown” on a firm, disposable plate.
  • Cookies to be no larger than 3” (6.75 cm) & not smaller than 2” (5cm)
  • Judged on Presentation -25 points, General Appearance -15 Points, Internal appearance -15 points, Flavour -45 points

PRIZES: 1ST – $15, 2ND – $6, 3RD – $4

Prizes 101: 4th etc. from Fair Board

  1. Robin Hood Family “Best Lunchbox Snack” Contest: Best family homemade cookies, squares or bars, youth division, 12 years & younger (as of December 31, 2016)

Robin Hood, 2nd-$10 Product Certi­ficate donated by Robin Hood, 3rd etc from Fair Board Best Lunchbox Snack Contest

Best homemade cookies, squares or bars, youth division, 12 years & younger. Judging will be based on appearance, taste, texture & recipe creativity. 1ST Prize – $15 Prize money donated by Robin Hood. 2nd etc. from Fair Board

  1. One scrapbook album page, theme of your choice. Gift Prize donated by Fair Board.
  2. Theme Special – Write an acrostic poem for Sew It, Grow It and Show It – hand writing or computer generated

PATRICIA M BOUGHEN MEMORIAL

The winner will be determined based on the highest points accumulated from the participants in the Arts & Crafts Sections either Class 30 – 33. The winner will receive a trophy or plaque donated by the family of Patricia M Boughen.

NORMA BANGAY MEMORIAL

Norma was a retired school teacher & a long-time volunteer in the Junior Section at the Bolton Fall Fair. Norma passed away in 2011 and is dearly missed. In her honor, the Norma Bangay Memorial award is presented to the School with the top points accumulated by students from their school in all Junior section classes. Plaque donated by Fair Board.

  1. Most points awarded in Class 27 – a $20 Gift Certificate donated by Forster’s Book Garden.
  2. Second highest points awarded in Class 27 – $5 donated by Annie Lynn The Clown.
  3. Most points awarded in Class 28 – $20 donated by Cookhome Farm, Sandhill.
  4. Second highest points awarded in Class 28 – $5 donated by Annie Lynn The Clown.
  5. Most points in Class 27, 28 or 29 (excluding the Mashinter trophy winner) – TBA
  6. Most points Awarded in Class 29 – trophy donated by Orval & Sara Mashinter.
  7. Most points awarded in Class 30 – $25 cash donated by Bolton United Church Women.
  8. Most points awarded in Class 31 – 10” silver tray donated by The Royal Bank, Bolton.
  9. Most points in Class 32 – TBA
  10. Most points in Class 33 & 34 – TBA

 

 

PATRICIA M BOUGHEN MEMORIAL

The winner will be determined based on the highest points accumulated from the participants in the Arts & Crafts Sections either Class 30, 31, 32, & 33. The winner will receive a trophy for one year. Trophy to be returned by September 1, 2015 to the Albion & Bolton Agricultural Society. Plaque donated by the family of Patricia M Boughen.

 

NORMA BANGAY MEMORIAL

Norma was a retired school teacher & a long-time volunteer in the Junior Section at the Bolton Fall Fair. Norma passed away in 2011 and is dearly missed.   8. Most points awarded in Class 31 receives a suitably inscribed 10” silver tray donated by The Royal Bank, Bolton.
  9. Most points in Class 32 receives Dinner for 4 donated by McDonald’s Bolton.
  10. Most points in Class 33 & 34 receives Dinner for 4 donated by McDonald’s Bolton.
